Terms of service

This is the learning platform of SMIT Academy. It carries the academy’s course material: quizzes, revision, notes and flashcards today, with model papers and live classes to come. Using it means accepting these terms and the privacy policy.

The platform is part of the course a student has enrolled in. It is not sold separately, and no payment is taken on this site. [SMIT Academy to confirm: how course fees are agreed, and whether those terms sit alongside these ones]

• Accounts are created by the academy for enrolled students and for its own staff. Nobody can sign themselves up.
• An account belongs to one person. Sharing a password, or letting someone else use the account, is not allowed.
• A student keeps their password to themselves and tells the academy at once if they think someone else has it.
• The academy can see a student's password in order to tell them what it is; every such look-up is logged.
• Everything done with an account is treated as done by the person it belongs to.

A student agrees not to:

• copy, download in bulk, re-publish or sell the questions, notes, papers, flashcards or class recordings;
• record, re-stream or share a live class;
• pass material to anyone who is not an enrolled student of the academy;
• try to reach another person's account, or any part of the platform they have not been given;
• use automated tools to collect material from the platform, or to answer questions on a student's behalf;
• interfere with the service or test its security without the academy's written permission.

The course material on this platform belongs to SMIT Academy or to those it licenses it from. A student may use it for their own study while enrolled, and for nothing else. That permission ends when the enrolment does.

What a student produces — their answers, attempts and progress — stays a record of their own learning, handled as the privacy policy describes.

Marks, experience points, streaks, badges and the leaderboard are there to help a student study. Some marking is done automatically, including the reading of answer sheets. The academy may correct a mark or a score when something has gone wrong, and the corrected figure is the one that counts.

Nothing on this platform is a prediction of a real examination result, nor a guarantee of university admission.

The academy aims to keep the platform running, but it can be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside the academy’s control, and features change as the platform grows. Live classes keep to the timetable the academy publishes; a class may be moved or cancelled.

A student should not rely on this platform as the only copy of anything that matters to them.

When a student leaves, or an intake closes, the account is archived: signing in stops, and the learning record is kept as the privacy policy describes. The academy may also suspend or archive an account that breaks these terms, or where it is needed to protect other students.

A student who wants their account closed should write to info@studymedicineitaly.com.

The platform is provided as it is. The academy is responsible for what the law says it is responsible for, and does not accept responsibility for a loss caused by a student breaking these terms, or by a service outside its control. These terms change as the platform does; the date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the platform means accepting the current version. The academy will tell students about a change that matters.
